Prince Harry will sit down for two TV interviews ahead of his new memoir, Spare.

This Sunday (8 January 2023) ITV will broadcast an exclusive interview with the Duke of Sussex in which he will speak to journalist and ITV News at Ten presenter Tom Bradby.

The in-depth chat is expected to cover a range of topics including his personal relationships, previously unheard details surrounding his mother Diana’s death and a look at his future.

ITV released a first trailer of the interview, in which Harry can be heard saying: “It was never meant to be like this – a leak, a plant. I want a family… They want to keep us as villains. They have shown absolutely no desire to reconcile. I would like to have my father back. I would like to have my brother back.”

Michael Jeremy, ITV’s director of news and current affairs, said: “It is extremely rare for a member of the royal family to speak so openly about their experiences at the heart of the institution.

“Tom Bradby’s interview with Prince Harry will be a program that anyone with an informed opinion about the monarchy should want to watch.”

Ian Rumsey, managing director and executive producer of ITN productions, added: “Harry’s version of events contains many elements we have never heard before, as viewers will see. It’s a raw and intimate look at his relationships with those closest to him and the moments that shaped him.”

Also on Sunday, Prince Harry, 38, will speak with Anderson Cooper on CBS News’ 60 Minutes about his upcoming memoir, which is due for release on January 10.

The network released a short teaser for the hour-long interview, describing it as “revealing” and calling Harry’s book “explosive.”

Spare is expected to detail the rift between Harry and his older brother Prince William, 40.

Both interviews follow Netflix’s six-part Harry and Meghan documentary series, which follows the Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan’s journey from falling in love to their decision to step back as senior members of the royal family in 2020 and their official exit a year later – late.

During the documentary, the couple opened up about why they did the series, with Meghan explaining: “I’m not going to say it’s comfortable, but when you feel like people have gotten some sense of who you are for so long, it’s really nice to have the opportunity to give people a little more insight into what happened and also who we are.”

Harry: The Interview will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm on January 8. CBS News’ 60 Minutes with Harry will also air on CBS and Paramount Plus on January 8.
