Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan are coming to enthrall the audience with Adipurush on June 16. There is a lot of excitement for the film Om Raut despite the displeasure over the poor VFX and weak second trailer of the film. The film aims to make maximum moolah from the belt of Hindi and Telugu. Prabhas is one of the top stars of Tollywood and has huge demand for his every movie. According to some trade sites, the Telugu version is said to be struggling as top distributors are not willing to buy the film at exorbitant prices.
People Media Factory (PMF) seems to have bought the Telugu rights of the film in bulk for a whopping Rs 170 crore. A few days ago, reports surfaced stating that Telugu producer-distributor Dil Raju has backed out of buying distribution rights as PMF is demanding a huge amount for Nizam and Uttarandhra regions.
It was told by Track Tollywood that People Media Factory could not recover the Rs 50 crore as top distributors were not willing to buy the film. They said the company was asking for a huge amount which did not seem feasible. PMF is facing problems as they are yet to recover Rs 50 crore of the Rs 170 crore spent by them on the film.
Mythri Movie Makers bought the rights to Nizam for Rs 50 crore. Six territories of Andhra Pradesh were sold to others for a total sum of Rs 50 crore. The assigned rights were purchased for Rs 17.5 crore. This left the manufacturing company with a deficit of Rs 52.5 crore. Prabhas’ last movie Radhe Shyam flopped very badly. Other films like Acharya and Liger also made huge losses for the distributors. It’s not surprising to see them tread carefully.
But this is shocking that Prabhas film is not distributor. The rebel star has a huge fan base across India. The Telugu market is its largest. In the North, the film is expected to have a smashing debut. Experts predict that it will make Rs 100 crores plus in the first weekend.
