The simplest of items make a difference. It could be a shiny car, a stuffed toy, pencils or toothbrushes.
These gifts show the children someone loves and cares for them.
Last year Coast residents shipped 808 gift-filled shoeboxes and this year we are hoping to reach 1,000 boxes.
If you are interested in participating in this wonderful message of caring from Canada to children in other countries, you can pick up empty red and green boxes at Gibsons Building Supplies (both locations) IGA in Gibsons, New Hope Chiropractic in Gibsons or Sechelt, local churches, and the local collection center, which is Calvary Baptist Church, 711 Park Rd in Gibsons, or you can call local co-ordinator, Martha Schroth at 604-886-8545 if you need boxes or have questions. Local boxes should be received by Nov. 14.
