Nayanthara and Vignesh Sivan tied the knot on June 9 in a grand and glamorous ceremony at a resort in Mahabalipuram in the presence of close family members and a host of friends from the film industry. It was reported that the couple sold the digital streaming rights of their wedding to OTT giant Netflix for a whopping Rs 25 crore. However, Netflix reportedly rejected the deal and refused to stream their wedding. According to reports, Netflix’s decision not to stream the wedding apparently came after Vignesh recently shared some photos from their wedding on his Instagram. To mark the completion of one month of their wedding, Vignesh posted a series of pictures of some of the celebrity guests like Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan and director Mani Ratnam who attended their grand wedding ceremony. Apparently, Vignesh felt that there shouldn’t be much delay in the couple not sharing their wedding pictures as it will make their fans lose interest in their marriage ceremony. If reports are to be believed, Netflix has covered the entire cost of Nayanthara and Vignesh’s wedding and its celebrations. Booking rooms in a five-star hotel in Mahabalipuram, erecting a large glass palace on the beach, food worth Rs 3,500 per meal, expensive make-up artists and security were also arranged from Mumbai.

The couple made arrangements to provide lunch to over one lakh people across the state as part of their wedding arrangements. The food was to be provided to needy people and nursing home residents across the state. Apart from this, organizing ‘Annadanam’ in selected temples was also done by the celebrity couple whose wedding grabbed everyone’s attention. As part of their wedding arrangements, the couple also chose to provide food to 18,000 children across the state.
