Immortal Ashwatthama takes a back seat again?
Immortal Ashwatthama is Aditya Dhar’s most ambitious project yet. And he wants to leave no stone unturned while making the film. As per the latest updates, the film which was supposed to be headlined by Ranveer Singh after Vicky Kaushal dropped out has been shelved again. Although names like Shah Rukh Khan, Jr NTR and KGF star Yash have come up for casting, it has not been confirmed. And now the film has been shelved this time due to budget issues. According to Peepingmoon.com, Jio Studios has not approved the budget that the director wanted for The Immortal Ashwatthama. It is said that Aditya wants to make this project on a huge scale, but it will require a huge budget.
The studios felt that investing such a huge amount of money was risky for now given the unpredictable nature of the market. The entertainment news portal quoted an industry insider as saying that if things go south after the release of such a massive film, then the Studio may also shut down. Aditya realized the same and stopped the film. He also released the team that was working on the pre-production of The Immortal Ashwatthama.
Immortal Ashwatthama already incurring a loss of Rs 30 crore?
According to a report in Pinkvilla, The Jio Studios has shelved the film for some time as they feel that reviving such an ambitious project is impossible. The pre-work on The Immortal Ashwatthama has been going on for about 3 years and a lot of money has already been spent on the film. Stakeholders were fine with losing Rs 30 crore than investing around Rs 300 to 350 crore in the making.
