On Navya Naveli Nanda’s podcast, her grandmother Jaya Bachchan recently said that she has no problem with her granddaughter having a child out of wedlock. She also said that physical attraction is very important, adding that relationships cannot last with love and accommodation. Navya has now hit back at Jaya’s comments, saying the whole point of her podcast is to create a safe space for women to talk about anything and everything.
In her new interview, Navya said that they have an episode where they talk about women’s health and hygiene. She believes that when you create an environment where you can talk openly about relationships and friendships without any judgment and not feeling uncomfortable. “The conversation was easy and I stepped outside my comfort zone,” she added.
“I think when you’re putting yourself out there, you have to understand that something that you’re sharing with the world, your opinions, people may agree, people may not agree, but I think the purity and the motivation behind this podcast really has a nice funny intelligent talks,” Navya told NDTV.
During the podcast, Jaya said it’s important for people to experiment with their relationships so they can find themselves if they’re compatible enough to share their lives with each other. She added that in their time they could not experiment, but today’s generation does.
The veteran actress then went on to say that if you’ve had a physical relationship and still feel like their relationship isn’t working out, one should be okay with that. Giving a piece of advice to the younger generation, Jaya said that one should marry their best friend whom you can discuss and say I would like to have a child with you because I like you and let’s get married. She added that even if Navya has a child out of wedlock, she has no problem.
