Naagin fame Mouni Roy had the chance of her life in Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy action-adventure film Brahmastra. She received huge praise for her role as the antagonist Junoon in Ranbir Kapoor and co-starring Alia Bhatt. She also got a chance to work with Shah Rukh Khan for the first time on celluloid. She may have only shot 6-7 days with King Khan out of his 9-10 days of shooting for his cameo and she couldn’t have asked for anything more to have that kind of magical experience.
“I shot with Shah Rukh Khan for about six to seven days. And what can I say “magical”, he is just the best, so smart, so charming and so beautiful, inside out. How can I even explain such an extraordinary I was so nervous on the first day,” Mooney said in an interview with India Today.
Recalling her first day of rehearsal with Shah Rukh Khan, Mouni said, “In television, we are used to memorizing a lot of lines, so I was ready. I prepared properly for the role, knowing that I was working with Shah Rukh Khan, literally, and I was like, ‘I’m totally ready!’ I was so nervous.”
However, Mooney pulled herself together and decided to give it her all, as opportunities like this don’t knock on your door everyday. “So I had to give it my all and I had to give him 100% of me. I kept saying ‘how lucky I was to share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan sir, SRK sir, Nagarjuna sir, Ranbir and Alia. They are all legendary actors,” she added.
Mouni had previously said that Brahmastra was not just a film but an emotion that she would cherish for the rest of her life. The actress started her career with the popular saas-bahu saga Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and later became part of a number of shows including Junoon – Aisi Nafrat Toh Kaisa Ishq, Kasturi, Naagin and also acted in Bollywood films like Run, Tum Bin 2 and many more.
