Minju Kim V&A fashion show tickets

Since winning the first series of Next in Fashion, designer Minju Kim has gone from strength to strength; designs from her eponymous label are stocked by global luxury retailers such as Net-a-Porter, she released a high-street collaboration with & Other Stories last year, and now she’s preparing to host a series of catwalk shows at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum.

The South Korean creative, who won the Netflix competition show back in 2020, is the next featured designer as part of the museum’s ‘Fashion in Motion’ series. It puts her in prestigious company; previous designers to have taken part include Alexander McQueen (in 1999), Vivienne Westwood (2004), Erdem (2009) and, most recently, Harris Reed, just last year.

Known for her signature bold shapes and imaginative style, Kim’s designs combine couture-level execution and a playfulness, with the aim of sparking joy in the wearer (and those who set eyes on them). Both her spring/summer 2022 and autumn/winter 2022 collections will be exhibited as part of four fashion shows, held in the museum’s Raphael Court in April. And the best part? Tickets are entirely free of charge and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

“As a designer, I’m absolutely thrilled about the upcoming V&A fashion show as it presents a rare and precious opportunity to showcase the one-of-a-kind charm that MinjuKim embodies,” the designer said in a statement.

preview for Next In Fashion: Season 2 trailer

“While one Fashion in Motion presentation may not be able to fully capture the essence of our brand, I’m excited at the prospect of spreading its unique allure right in the heart of the fashion world. This show promises to be a truly invaluable experience for MinjuKim and I can hardly wait to see our brand come alive on the runway.”

While Kim is best known for appearing on the Next In Fashion show, the designer also won the H&M Design Award in 2015 and was a semi-finalist in the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers in 2014, demonstrating she’s definitely one to have on your fashion radar.
