Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor will be seen in Dear the next one. The film was produced by her father, Boney Kapoor. Incidentally, this is the first time father and daughter will be working together and it is Janhvithe sixth film so far in her short career. So we wondered what took the actress so long to collaborate Bonnie, and if it was actually a conscious effort on both of their parts. So, in a recently concluded exclusive interview Janhvi Kapoor and I asked her exactly these questions and she satisfied our curiosity all too graciously.
Janhvi Kapoor explains why Boney Kapoor didn’t let her go
While talking exclusively to us in entertainment news an interview, Janhvi Kapoor said, “Both of us had taken this decision consciously. It would have been easier if I had done my first film with him, but I also think there would have been more pressure on both of us. On his part, I think, not from a business point of view, but rather emotionally, because he was going to launch his daughter. And for me, it would have been to give my father (Bowney Kapoor) a viable film to work and perform like that, I think it would have been too much.”
Why are Janhvi Kapoor-Boney Kapoor now collaborating in Mili?
Janhvi added, “From a business and creative point of view (Mili), it was a safer option. The timing and story was also right as it is a father and daughter story at the heart of it. When dad saw this movie (the original malayalam version) he called me and started crying and told me that he thought he saw both of them in the movie. It just felt like it was coming from the right place, it didn’t feel like we were going to do a project together. It felt like deal (from heart).”
