Filmmaker Om Raut’s magnum opus Adipurush is all set to hit the theaters on June 16. Starring Prabhas as Ram and Kriti Sanon as Sita, movie buffs are waiting with bated breath to catch the unfolding visual spectacle. Adipurush is based on the iconic mythological epic Ramayana. Recently the makers revealed the most awaited song of the movie Ram Siya Ram. He captured the popular sequence of Hanuman as Ram’s messenger meeting Sita and giving her the Mudrika of Ram as his identification. But one major mistake in the song went unnoticed by social media users.
Error in Ram Siya Ram song
In the original Ramcharitmanas, after Hanuman gives Ram’s Mudrika to Sita in the Ashok Vatika, she also gives Hanuman a jewel to prove her identification to Ram. Sita hands over her chowdamani, also known as a head ornament to Hanuman, asking him to deliver the ornament to her husband. Contrary to what is written in the Ramcharitmanas, the song Ram Siya Ram by Adipurush shows Kriti Sanon’s Sita giving her bracelet or miracle to Hanuman and not to chowdamanis.
In fact, a verse in the Ramcharitmanas specifically talks about this brief interaction between Sita and Hanuman. The makers of Adipurush seem to have changed this small but very important detail in the film. So far, there has been no talk or criticism from the public about a change in the film adaptation.
Adipurush trolls for bad visual effects
Earlier, Adipurush had to face heavy trolling for its visuals after the release of the teaser. Some Twitter users even called the film’s visuals cartoonish and childish. Later, the makers again made the necessary changes and released a second teaser and trailer. This time, the masses heaped praise on the significant changes in color grading and VFX. The before and after pictures of Adipurush that were tweeted at the time also grabbed a lot of eyeballs.
Adipurush Cast
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Adipurush was made on a whopping budget of Rs 500 crore. But surprisingly it was reported that around 432 crores have already been recovered from non-theatrical business. Apart from Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, Adipurush boasts an ensemble cast of Saif Ali Khan as Ravan and Devdutta Nage as Hanuman along with Sunny Singh and Vatsal Sheth in crucial roles.
