Maha Shivratri, one of the most auspicious Hindu festivals, falls on February 18 this year. While there are many beliefs about Maha Shivratri, of which the most popularly believed is the marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. It is also believed that Maha Shivratri is celebrated to remember the day when Lord Shiva drank the poison churned out from the ocean, and thereby protecting the world from evil spirits, negativity, darkness, and dismay. If you are in the mood to tune in to something soothing, ‘Shivadam Shivanamam’ might be just the right one. ‘Shivadam Shivanamam’ is from the 1999 film ‘Mazhavillu’. The lyrics are penned by Kaithapram, and the music is done by Mohan Sithara. The song is sung by KJ Yesudas and KS Chithra.
