Kia India reported its best ever cumulative sales of 3,36,619 units in CY2022, registering a growth of 47.7 percent over the previous year. The company’s domestic shipments stood at 2,54,556 units, registering a growth of 40 percent year-on-year. Export shipments totaled 82,063 units in CY2022.

Since its inception in August 2019, the company has achieved cumulative sales of 8 lakh in the last 41 months, including 6.22 lakh units of domestic sales and 1.78 lakh units of exports. In December 2022, Kia India recorded 15,184 unit sales in the domestic market with 94.7 percent year-on-year growth.

According to the company, CY2022 was an important year as the brand became the largest UV (Utility Vehicle) exporter in the country, registering its highest ever export figure of 82,063 units. In the domestic market, Seltos has crossed the milestone of selling 1 lakh units in a year. Seltos registered sales of 1,01,569 units last year and Sonet reported sales of 86,251 units in the same year. While Carens sales stood at 62,756 units, Carnival and EV6 added 3,550 and 430 units respectively.

According to Hardeep Singh Brar, Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing, Kia India, CY 2022 has turned out to be the best year for Kia India in more ways than one, fueled by the unconditional and unwavering love and support from Indian buyers. “Despite various headwinds such as geopolitical issues, COVID-induced supply chain disruptions and price hikes, we have managed to register the highest sales for the brand in the country. It is a matter of great pride that Kia products are not only disrupting their respective segments in India, but are also creating waves and ever-increasing demand in international markets,” Singh added.

He further said that the company’s outlook for 2023 is bright and it will continue to focus on the ever-changing needs of its customers to offer new-age mobility solutions. Last year, it kicked off its EV journey in India with the launch of its flagship EV model, the EV6. Kia India has also announced its Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) business to meet the growing personal mobility demand in the country with over 30 stores by the end of 2022.
