Taapsee Pannu-starrer Rashmi Rocket, which put the spotlight on modern sports’ oppressive notion of femininity, completes a year since its release on Zee5. Directed by Akarsh Khurrana, screenplay and dialogue are given by Kanika Dhillon and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The film received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike for its thought-provoking subject, which was inspired by true events in the lives of famous athletes Dutti Chand and Santhi Soundarajan.

Earlier this year, writer-co-producer Kanika Dhillon, who is known for her unique treatment of women-centric themes in mainstream Hindi feature films, won a Best Dialogue nomination for Rashmi Rocket at the 67th Filmfare Awards. Dhillon and Pannu have had a very successful partnership ever since they worked together on Rashmi Rocket. The power duo, Dhillon and Tapsee together have also given smash hits and are rumored to be collaborating for Haseen Dillruba 2.
