Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivii may not have rocked the box office, but her performance was definitely appreciated. She won a SIIMA nomination for the same. Filmfare also nominated Kangana Ranaut in the Best Actress category for Thalaivii. The actress took to her Instagram and said she would be suing the publication. Kangana Ranaut said that she has been invited to attend the ceremony for many years. She said it was like an attendance award and it was beneath her dignity to attend such shows and accept the awards. Check out the screenshot below…
Thalaivii is directed by AL Vijay. Kangana Ranaut stars as Tamil Nadu’s former CM, J Jayalalithaa. The film received mixed reviews from critics. In fact, even Kangana Ranaut’s acting came under the scanner. The actress accused Bollywood of promoting nepotism, elitism and sabotaging careers. She started campaigning after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020.
Kangana Ranaut is now busy with Emergency. The film is based on the life of former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi. Shreyas Talpade and Mahima Chaudhary also play important roles in the film. Dhaakad writer Ritesh Shah is also on the writing team. Her first look has been appreciated a lot. This came as a shock. While Aamir Khan has said that he will boycott the Indian Film Awards, no celebrity has done anything like that. Kangana Ranaut’s latest film Dhaakad has fared very badly at the box office.
