Jay Soni expresses her happiness of loving Abhinav; says: “It was magical” [Exclusive]

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai enjoys a huge fan following. It is one of the longest running TV shows and yet the audience never gets bored of it. It still holds a place among the top five shows in the TRP charts. Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod aka Abhimanyu-Akshara are currently at the helm of the story. The makers of the show have always brought amazing twists and turns in the show. This is one of the reasons why people can’t get bored of the show. Recently Jay Soni entered the show as Abhinav. While we all loved Abhimanyu and Akshara’s love story, Abhinav came in as a breath of fresh air. After the six year leap, Abhinav became the most loved character on the show and his chemistry with Akshara and little Abhir won hearts. Jay Soni has been praised for his performance as Abhinav Sharma. We won’t be wrong if we say that he has completely nailed the character of Abhinav. Speaking exclusively to BollywoodLife, Jay Soni expressed his happiness at the love he received as Abhinav. He shared, “It was unexpected that Abhinav’s journey took such a turn. At first I just had no idea. I was doing step by step. I was not aware of what would happen in the future. I did what I knew. Abhinav’s character grew slowly. So it wasn’t an overnight thing. “Every phase of Abhinav was different for me. I was learning, trying new shades of Abhinav, going through different zones of him. So, it was a beautiful trip. It’s very rare on television that you get that kind of role or character that is so beloved. So, I didn’t imagine at all and it was completely unexpected and it was like a surprise to me. I was just true to the craft and honest in everything I did with full conviction. So it was just in my hand to be honest and play this character,” he added.

Jay Soni calls Abhinav’s journey magical

The actor called this journey magical and how he simply trusted producer Rajan Shahi for this role. He shared, “I hadn’t thought anything of it initially when Rajan sir offered me this role. He just told me to trust him and I said I trusted him and I did. If a guy like Rajan Shahi tells you to do it, then I should have accepted it. I hadn’t thought much and it was just Sir Rajan’s belief. I just didn’t want to let him down with the faith he showed.”

Jay Soni further added, “It was a show jaha vacation hi nahi thi and mai ghuss gaya waha. And then people praised my character, showed love, everything was magical. So if people like it, then I’m on the right track.”
