Janice Dickinson declares Paul Burrell and Shaun Ryder are “nice guys” in the first episode of I’m A Celebrity… South Africa – despite having no clue who they are.

The 68-year-old American model – who took part in the ITV jungle reality show in 2007 – joins the former royal butler and the Happy Mondays star in the new ‘legend’ series and can be seen meeting them for the first time in a preview of the opening episode.

Dickinson meets Burrell and Ryder and tells them: “I want to win it!”

She later tells the camera: “I just met two campmates and they seem to be such nice guys. I wish I knew who they were…”

Later when she sees hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly for the first time she exclaims: “My boyfriends! I missed you so much!”

Meanwhile, Jordan Banjo is delighted to be reunited with Carol Vorderman after they both took part int he 2016 series of the show.

Banjo, 30, said: “Carol was literally like my mum the first time.”

But boxer Amir Khan admits he doesn’t know who the Diversity dancer is.

The first episode of the series – to crown the first I’m A Celebrity Legend – sees 62-year-old former Countdown star Vorderman volunteering to go first in the Deadly Drop challenge to win a meal for camp on the first night.

Arriving in camp Vorderman sets to work on making the open air long drop toilet more private by fashioning a cloth wall around it.

But Dickinson’s priority is to pick a bed, admitting she learned from her last experience to be elevated and near the fire.

Also returning are Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan, Olympic athlete Fatima Whitbread and retired cricketer Phil Tufnell.

The celebrities are all given trials to take part in before they even get to camp, before they must build a fire and divide up the chores.

And just as they are getting settled in in the South African Savanna Ant and Dec arrive to reveal there will be twist on the first night.

I’m A Celebrity… South Africa begins on ITV at 9pm on Monday 24 April.
