By Grace Cyril: UP CM Yogi Adityanath was recently on a two-day visit to Mumbai where he met many celebrities including Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Boney Kapoor,Kailash Kher, and Sonu Nigam, among others. He held a meeting with them all with the prospect of extending subsidies to filmmakers to come and shoot in UP. Suniel Shetty even asked the CM to help stop the boycott Bollywood trend. In a video going viral now, Jackie Shroff is seen welcoming CM Yogi Adityanath in his signature style before urging him to reduce the prices of popcorn at cinema halls.

JACKIE SHROFF’S HILARIOUS REQUEST FROM UP CM YOGI ADITYANATH

In the video, Jackie Shroff is seen standing up from his seat to welcome CM Yogi Adityanath. He says, “Welcome to Mumbai, Kabhi bhi ghar ka khana chaiye toh hukum karna, Mil jayega (If you want home cook food anytime, just tell me and I will send it).”

In a hilarious request, Jackie added, “Theatre Ke popcorn ka keemat kam karo Sir. 500 rupiya lete hai popcorn ka. Picture banayenge, studio banayenge, lekin andar aayega kaun? (Please reduce the price of the popcorn sir. In the theatre, they charge Rs 500 for popcorn. We are making films, but what is the use if no one comes to watch the film?)”

CELEBS MEET UP CM YOGI ADITYANATH

Jackie Shroff took to Twitter to share a picture with UP CM Yogi Adityanath and wrote, “It was nice to meet @myogiadityanath Ji today along with @SubhashGhai1 ji and my friends @SunielVShetty and @rahulmittra13 and learn about the UP film policy and film city. My best wishes!”

On the other hand, singer Kailash Kher also shared a few pictures as he and Sonu Nigam met the CM. He wrote, “After the recording, I and SonuNigam Ji met the worthy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh @myogiadityanath @myogioffice and eminent personalities of the film industry. The topic of discussion was that maximum number of people should come and film their art in Uttar Pradesh (sic).”

UP IS A FILM FRIENDLY STATE: YOGI ADITYANATH

Yogi Adityanath mentioned that as cinema plays a huge part in uniting society, he wants to ensure the fraternity can shoot smoothly in UP as it is a ‘film-friendly’ state. He further said, “We have made two of your film fraternity members as MPs and we know the issues you face and what needs to be done. Cinema plays a crucial role in uniting the society and preserving the unity and sovereignty of the country.”

Adityanath also met filmmakers Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Madhur Bhandarkar, Om Raut, Rajkumar Santoshi, Subhash Ghai, Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Manmohan Shetty, Boney Kapoor, Jackky Bhagnani, and Rajpal Yadav.
