Is Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, the lead inspired by THIS Tamil movie?

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is one of the most awaited movies of the year. Karan Johar is back in the director’s chair and movie buffs have high expectations from the film starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. Citing the big shots, family drama, big cast and other such factors, people are claiming that KJo is bringing the OG Bollywood back to Bollywood. Well, it is reported that the much awaited movie of the year is not an original but a remake of a south movie. The Karan Johar directorial is said to be a remake of a Tamil film titled Santosh Subramaniam starring Genelia D’Souza and Jayam Ravi. This romantic comedy drama has the same story as Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film is said to have inspired the makers of the upcoming Bollywood film. Talking about Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt starrer, the film revolves around the love story of Rocky and Rani. Rocky is a boisterous and flamboyant Punjabi, while Rani is an intellectual, sophisticated girl hailing from a rich family. As time goes on, both in love and for the convenience of their family for marriage, they change houses. Both swap their families for three months to pass the test. Well, this plot seems to be inspired by Santosh Subramaniam. The Tamil film starring Genelia D’Souza and Jayam Ravi follows the story of a man who hails from a rich family and as usual his father rejects the girl he loves. Since she does not match their status, his father looks for another suitable girl. However, for the convenience of the respective fathers, the girl should live with the boy’s family for a few days and vice versa. As time goes on, both pass the test and get approved in this fun riding drama which is also a remake of the Telugu film Bommarillu starring Genelia D’Souza and Siddharth. Isn’t the basic storyline of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Santosh Subramaniam the same? Although the Tamil entertainer has inspired the upcoming family entertainer, Karan Johar has his own touch that can attract the audience. Apart from Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, RARKPK also stars Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 28, 2023.
