Her editorial shoot with Sabyasanchi drops a glimpse of Indian couture with bright prints and colours opening Sabyasanchi showroom doors for the viewers. The second episode brings Mrunal Thakur in graceful and elegant dresses playing the character of a trophy wife fighting domestic abuse as Adhira Arya, former Miss India/model turned actor getting married to the love of her life. It’s a tragic merge of a fashion icon being trapped in her own emotions, the episode is raising eyebrows towards the unspoken yet ugly truth of domestic violence. 3rd episode shows extra marital affairs with standard fashion choices with Neelan Kapoor and takes us to French Riviera in the fourth episode with Elnaaz Norouzi playing the perfect Bollywood actress part, with the sequence sarees and blingy dresses resembling Manish Malhotra designs and his Bolly allure, she resolves it in playful witty manners playing Leila Shirazi with those signature grins and laughs. The most talked about is the 5th episode of the season which brings dynamic Radhika Apte as Pallavi Menke displaying the dilemma of the Dalit Samaj degradation and its justice system denials by society, beautifully created ceremony of Dalit Buddhist Wedding wins many hearts of viewers and brings forth the evolved mindsets of today’s youth. Followed episode talks about Gay Marriage between two female leads which is a portrayal of gender-neutral fashion choices and hitting the right nail with the bravery of social acceptance of the one love motion. The 6th episode brings Dia Mirza with beautiful choices of salwar suits and kaftans bringing forth the elegance of being a first wife and raising her voice towards polygamy in Muslim marriages. While the last episode shows the age difference between couples with Sara Jane Dias being a woman who chooses self-love and commitment of being strong and happy being a single mother.
Kalki Koechlin plays Faiza Naqvi, who ends up marrying her friend’s husband after failing in a faithful friendship with Tara. Her choice of costumes is very cosmopolitan yet earthy with comfort being the key. While all the other characters of the show get a fair share of the habiliment by Bhawna Sharma, the former model and the stylist for ‘Made in Heaven’ she admits being a Delhi girl it was thrilling to design costumes for each character for the show which is based on marriage agency in the Delhi capital and characteristics of Zoya’s new venture. Accessories and hairstyle of the weddings they show have outshined clothing with stunning Mathapatties, Hair Bun embellishments, grooms jewellery, statement nose rings, wavy hairdos and floral Kaleere to dainty hairstyles with pearls and sheer sarees matching gold pins. Botanical offbeat decor with suspended floral and reflective mirrors. Made in Heaven seems to check all the boxes while pushing the envelope of social narratives for us to move forward with.
