ITV has denied claims that Mike Tindall breached their strict covid regulations by playing around with a producer before entering the I’m A Celebrity Jungle.
The former England rugby player, 44, from Otley, sparked concern after he was seen pretending to tackle a crew member and throw her off the side of a pontoon when filming began.
ITV have since released a statement to say that they are “satisfied” that the royal family member has not broken any regulations.
Earlier this week, MailOnline reported that by messing around with the TV worker, Mike Tindall broke the rules of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.
The crew member can be seen in photos wearing a face covering, as crew and celebrity campmates were obligated to remain 2 metres apart whilst filming the show.
A source told MailOnline: “Sound and security, who do tests, are the only people that can come into contact with the celebrities.
“Crew are also asked to wear face coverings to prevent a covid outbreak on set, which would completely ruin the show.
“Mike having physical contact with the assistant producer was a rule break and he shouldn’t have approached her.
“She was taken completely by surprise and didn’t expect Mike to behave the way he did.”
The reality television star Olivia Attwood had to leave the jungle following a medical issue and wasn’t allowed to re-enter after leaving the show’s strict covid bubble.
In order for the Love Island star to re-enter the camp she would have had to face a one week isolation, which was deemed “impossible.”
Mike Tindall and the producer were pictured together on Friday, just days before he entered into the camp with his fellow celebrities.
The show has made its return to the Australian jungle for the first time in two years after covid travel regulations forced the show to be filmed in Wales.
I’m A Celebrity has spent the last two years being filmed in Gwrych Castle in North Wales but has finally returned down under.
Mike Tindall, who is married to Zara Tindall, the granddaughter of the late Queen and daughter of Princess Anne, has been confirmed to be travelling to Australia to meet her husband when his time on the show is over.
The couple have three children, Mia, eight, Lena, four, and Lucas, one, who have also been confirmed to be waiting in Australia to greet their father.
A show spokesperson said: “ITV Studios and Lifted Entertainment operate a stringent set of covid protocols and procedures to ensure the protection and safety of our cast and crew.
“We have detailed risk assessments in place throughout filming and are satisfied that no protocols have been broken.”
