IIM Tiruchy will start personal interviews for admission from February 14 for those candidates selected through CAT (Common Aptitude Test). The institute will conduct the admission process on behalf of nine IIMs, the institution said in a release.
IIM Tiruchy has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the Common Admission Process 2022 (CAP 2022) on behalf of nine IIMs in India namely IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur. These admissions will count towards the 2022-24 postgraduate program batch.
The institute has officially stated that the outbreak of COVID-19 has led to the abolition of the Written Aptitude Test (conducted after CAT). Personal interviews are also scheduled to be conducted online. The decision was taken after a meeting of the directors of the nine IIMs.
IIM Tiruchy, the coordinating IIM for CAP 2022 had already declared the CAT result of the selected candidates on January 18 for CAP 2022 registration. The last date for CAP 2022 registration is January 28. After the registration, the successfully registered candidates will be sent a message regarding the personal interview.
The personal interview was scheduled over three weeks in three slots, with the first week scheduled between February 14 and 19, the second week between February 21 and 26, and the third week between March 7 and 12. More than 16,000 to 17,000 students were expected to register for the interviews. The admission process in the rest of the second and first generation IIMs is planned to be held separately and much earlier.
