Telugu superstar Ramya Krishnan had tried her luck in Bollywood in the 1990s. She acted in Dayavan, Parampara, Khalnayak, Chaahat, Banarasi Babu and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. However, her films did not perform as well as she expected. She is currently seen in Vijay Deverakonda starrer Liger and revealed how she didn’t have the guts to leave the Telugu industry for a career in Bollywood.
Revealing the reason for this, Rama said, according to news agencies, that none of her films work in the Hindi film industry. By this time she was already a star in the Telugu industry. So she didn’t have the guts to leave this industry, give it her all and fight in Hindi cinema.
Rama entertained audiences for almost four decades in the South and has many hit films like Priyudu (Telugu), Kante Koothurne Kanu (Telugu), Padayappa (Tamil), Sweety Nanna Jodi (Kannada), Panchatanthiram (Tamil), Baahubali serials (Telugu ) and Super Deluxe (Tamil) to name a few.
She is grateful that South filmmakers have given her varied roles to prove her mettle on screen. She said these kinds of roles open doors to more opportunities. She thinks this may be one of the reasons why she was never cast in certain types of roles.
Ramya had earlier showered praises on SS Rajamouli and said that she never imagined that the Baahubali faction would become so big as they were working on just another ordinary Telugu film. She felt proud that Pan-India happened because of the success of Baahubali.
