Google Hangouts is officially shutting down
Google, the world’s most popular search engine, has announced that it will show an in-app prompt to users who are still using Google Hangouts to switch to a Gmail chat or chat app.
The tech giants mentioned that the in-app prompt will allow remaining users to migrate to the chat app as Google continues to work towards officially shutting down Google Hangouts later in November.
Users communicating through the Hangouts app will be asked to switch to Gmail chat or install the chat app, according to the blog post.
