Gaurav Khanna called Anupamaa’s show a ‘steroid injection’ to News18. He revealed that he used to act the same way and put in the same amount of effort as an actor, but now he feels good that people call him “a very good actor.” He shared that no one gets anything by luck and some time ago. Now is the time. The star was quoted as saying: “I think it’s like the steroid shot. So far people liked my characters, but then comes a show like Anupamaa, a character like Anuj Kapadia and suddenly you are there (points to the sky). How Gaurav Khanna transformed into Anuj Kapadia

In the interview, he also revealed how he transformed to play the role. Since Anuj Kapadia is older than his real self, Gaurav Khanna had to put on some weight to look the part. He revealed that he had put on nearly 4-5 kilos and his mother had advised him to wear glasses. Earlier, he was skeptical if he would make it, but he proved that he is among the best actors in town.
