Finally, after a long wait, the 3rd instalment of Excel Entertainment’s one of the most successful and most anticipated comedy franchise of Bollywood Fukrey is all set for its release in December. Fukrey 3 stars Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Richa Chadha, Manjot Singh, and Pankaj Tripathi. The film is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and produced under Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment. On other hand, The Zoya Akhtar’ The Archies targeted November 24 as their release date.
Fukrey 3 locks in new release date of December 1; The Archies aims for November 24: Report
According to Pinkvilla, a source close to the development said, “Fukrey Returns was also a December release, and the team wishes to bring the third instalment of this cult comedy also in the winter period. Two dates were discussed aggressively in the meetings over the last few weeks – December 1 and December 8, with most of the stakeholders favouring a December 1 release. An announcement is round the corner.”
The source further added, “Producers have to abide by the calendar laid down by Netflix and at this point of time, The Archies is slated to release on November 24 on the digital platform. It’s going to be back-to-back releases for Excel in November and December.”
Meanwhile, The Archies’ new poster released yesterday. The film serves as the launchpad for a group of promising newcomers, including Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, and Suhana Khan, marking their entry into Bollywood. A musical experience bursting with youth, rebellion, friendships, first loves, and everything young adult, the film will feature the youthful energy, hope, and excitement of the sixty’s era. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, The Archies is co-written by Reema Kagti and Ayesha Devitre. Said to be a musical drama set in the 1960s, the film is all set to release on Netflix.
Excel Entertainment, which was co-founded by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani has time and again served the audience with several blockbuster films such as ZNMD, Dil Chahta Hai, Don, Don 2, and many more. Currently, the production house is gearing up for the most awaited Jee Le Zaraa.
