It’s no secret that Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor have been in a romantic relationship. According to reports, the two dated for nearly 5 years in the early 2000s and were on the verge of getting married. Abhishek and Karisma even got engaged but soon called it off without giving any reason. In a new interview, director Sunil Darshan revealed why Abhishek and Karisma were never meant to be together.
As the producer of his 2002 film Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya, Suneel closely observed Abhishek and Karisma’s equation on the sets. The film is directed by Dharmesh Darshan and also features Akshay Kumar. After the film bombed at the box office, Abhishek and Karisma parted ways and that was the only time they worked together.
When Suneel was asked about Abhishek and Karisma’s relationship rumours, the director said that there are no rumours, but it is the truth. He said they were going to get married and he himself attended their engagement. But during the shoot, the director realized that Abhishek and Karisma were not meant to be together as they were constantly fighting on the sets.
“They really weren’t made for each other. There were constant fights. Maybe some people are like that. I always wondered if they really were the couple “made for each other”. Abhishek is a cute boy. Lolo (Karisma’s pen name) is also a very nice person, but maybe some things are predestined,” Sunil told Bollywood Hungama.
Abhishek married Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and now they are parents to their daughter Aaradhya. Karisma is married to Delhi-based businessman Sanjay Kapoor and has two children, daughter Samaira and son Kiaan. They divorced in 2016.
