Game of Thrones background story The House of the Dragon Season 1 is halfway through, and a lot happened in those five episodes. Friendships were broken, tough choices were made, and several key characters died. Author George RR Martin was already foreshadowing how morally ambiguous the characters of House of the Dragon would be, and it looks like the growing tension has once again frayed. In the latest episode, Sir Kristen Cole, played by Fabien Frankellost his temper and did some things that will completely change his character in the coming episodes.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Frankel said, “I don’t think there’s anything premeditated about him, at least at the beginning of the show. He’s pretty much set up as one thing and changes a lot as the show progresses. That was exciting for me. He was created as a noble, benevolent knight there to protect Rhaenyra. And for those who have read the book, he is by no means that.
“I don’t think he’s looking for any form of conflict at this wedding at all.” Frankl notes. “If anything, he wants to be as far away from human possibility as possible.”
“My mom says, ‘You’ll really only see his true colors in this first episode.’ Frankel remembers her mother’s reaction at the premiere. “[Episodes] 2, 3, and 4, he is still in this one spirit [being] quite noble and respectful. And really, he’s just not that.’
