Let’s begin with our top story. Bollywood star Alia Bhatt recently took to her social media to share a glimpse of her trip to London with loved ones. The photos also featured Alia’s actor-husband Ranbir Kapoor, as well as her sister and writer Shaheen Bhatt. Alia had simply captioned the post, “LDN 2023.” Fans were quick to react to her post as they wrote complimentary things about their ‘favourite star.’ A few asked her for details about her upcoming project, while others claimed to be her number one supporters.
Meanwhile, Farah Khan on Sunday, 26th March dropped a new video with BFF, filmmaker Karan Johar in Los Angeles. Farah and Karan often share videos in which they engage in fun banter, never missing a chance to roast each other. The video begins with the two running into each other in LA. Referring to Farah’s red ensemble, Karan says, “It is too early for Christmas, don’t you think?” Farah highlights Karan’s green outfit and says, “Why! The Christmas tree is here. What is this laundry tag on your sleeve?” To this, Karan replies, “It is fashion!” Farah also shared a photo on her Instagram story which features herself, Karan Johar, music composers, Vishal-Shekhar and Apoorva Mehta, CEO of Dharma Movies.
Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, known for directing films like Krrish and Koi Mil Gaya, among many others, recently revealed that his film Karan Arjun starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan originally had a different cast. On the sets of Indian Idol 13, Roshan revealed that the film was initially titled Kainaat and starred Ajay Devgn instead of Salman Khan. In a clip shared on social media, Rakesh said – “For some reason, Ajay couldn’t do the film.” The film revolved around the rebirth of two brothers, who get brutally murdered and come back to seek vengeance in their next life.
Moving on. Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty opened up about his equation with actors Sanjay Dutt and Govinda. Suniel, who was all heart for his actor-friends, revealed that he used to run away from Sanjay because he used to trouble him. In a recent interview, when asked about Sanjay, Suniel said, “Sanju was a dude throughout and will always be. A fantastic friend, but very naughty. If you are shooting with him at night, either you be Batman or you run away.” Suniel also said that he is upset with Govinda and had a message for him. He said – “ He is too fine an actor. He needs to get back to work. He was born to act.”
Actor Arjun Kapoor and his sister Anshula recently penned heartfelt tributes for their late mother, Mona Shourie, on the occasion of her 11th death anniversary. Sharing a throwback picture with Mona on Instagram, Arjun poured his heart out and said that he is still mourning her death. The candid picture that he shared shows him as a young man, much before he became an actor. He wrote – “11 years have passed since you became the shield that protects me from beyond but I still wish you were here.” Arjun lost his mother a few days before his debut film Ishaqzaade was released in cinema halls in 2012. She died of cancer.
Meanwhile, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s wife and interior designer, Gauri Khan recently announced her debut book, My Life in Design, on social media with a never-seen-before family photograph, featuring herself, Shah Rukh and their three children — Aryan, Suhana and AbRam. Shah Rukh has also written a foreword for the book, a section of which reads, “I am excited to see what she has included in her book and if by chance she has designed some space better than what she has done for me.” Speaking to Vogue India, Gauri said that she will be offering several new glimpses of their house, Mannat in her book.
Actor Anushka Sharma and cricketer husband Virat Kohli often show their support for each other. However, the couple can be candid and fun when they want to and had a similar conversation on the red carpet of the recently held Indian Sports Honours. In a conversation with Star Sports, Anushka said that Virat has a good memory. Virat too accepted to remember things better. He said, “She tells me beforehand, to be fair. I remember the important things, the small stuff I forget.” The couple also spoke about spending time with their daughter Vamika and how they don’t mind leaving parties early.
Lastly, Actor Manoj Bajpayee had done multiple roles before Gangs of Wasseypur that were well-received by the audience as well as critics. But it can be said that it was the Anurag Kashyap directorial that changed the trajectory of his career. In a recent chat with Humans of Bombay, the actor opened up about how the project came to him via his old friend and collaborator, Anurag. Manoj said, “I got a call around 10:30 pm one night. It was a call from Anurag Kashyap, who I had not spoken to for many years. We had some conflict issues which had not been sorted out, but that one call kind of ended all the issues we had.”
