Let’s begin with our top story. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently spoke about starring in Pathaan. The Siddharth Anand directorial, also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, marks SRK’s comeback to Bollywood after five years. In an interview, Shah Rukh said that – He had this big desire to do an action film, ever since he entered the film industry. But was convinced by producer Aditya Chopra to drop the idea and do romantic films. So when Pathaan came along, he jumped at the idea, before Chopra “could decide to cancel it.”
Moving on. The pay disparity issue in Bollywood made headlines again after Priyanka Chopra recently opened up about it in an interview. The actor mentioned how it took her 22 years to get paid as much as her male co-stars. In a recent roundtable, actors Huma Qureshi, and Tamannah Bhatia among others weighed in on the issue. Tamannah shared that as female actors, the only way ahead would be to build a strong market for themselves. Huma Qureshi, who is basking in the success of Monica O My Darling and Maharani, added that she might be the highest-paid actor in a few of her projects, but the budget is never the same as a project with a male lead.
“Vishal Rana, who co-produced the Taapsee Pannu starrer “”Blurr””, recently revealed that his company has acquired the official rights to remake the 2002 action-thriller The Transporter.
In an interview recently, Rana said that he loved making big-budget action movies. The film producer shared, “We are in the process of developing a lot of scripts which are different. We are hearing a lot of stories currently from new writers. I’m making The Transporter remake. We have got the film’s official remake rights. We plan to begin work on it next year.“ Directed by Corey Yuen and Louis Leterrie, The Transporter featured Jason Statham in the lead role. “
“Meanwhile, Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor made a glamorous appearance at the Mumbai airport on Sunday morning, 25th December. While she happily posed for the cameras, Sonam also asked the paparazzi to not click son, Vayu’s photo.
Dressed in an oversized jacket with checkered detailing, the actor looked like her usual stylish self. Upon her request, the paparazzi instantly assured her that they wouldn’t capture her son, and she thanked them. While a few social media users tried to make fun of her outfit, her fans lauded the way she spoke politely with the paps. Sonam Kapoor will next be seen in “”Blind””.”
Salman Khan’s sister, Arpita Khan recently hosted a birthday party for her daughter Ayat with her husband, actor Aayush Sharma. The birthday bash was attended by several celebrities, including Ekta Kapoor, Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi, among others. Karan Johar’s children Yash and Roohi Johar were present as well. Genelia D’souza also attended the bash with her children, Riaan and Rahyl. Many fans dropped heart emoticons on the video, with some calling the kids ‘cute’ and ‘adorable’. Arpita Khan and Aayush Sharma tied the knot in 2014 and have two children, Ayat and Ahil.
Actor Mohit Raina, who recently dismissed divorce rumours, took to Instagram on Saturday, 24th December to celebrate his first wedding anniversary with his wife Aditi Sharma. The actor shared an adorable photo with a caption that read, “Cheers to two imperfect pieces that fit perfectly together.” The actor surprised fans when he uploaded photos of his wedding on social media last year. The couple had a low-key wedding in Rajasthan. Earlier, in an interview, Mohit dismissed the divorce rumours and said, “I don’t know from where it started, it was carried by an online portal. I am happily married and will be celebrating my first anniversary in Himachal Pradesh. This is just baseless news.”
“Casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who made his filmmaking debut with the Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer Dil Bechara, recently opened up about his debut film on Chetan Bhagat’s podcast. Mukesh said that he had decided that Sushant was his first choice for the role.
Dil Bechara was based on the novel The Fault in Our Stars and released shortly after Sushant’s death in 2020. Mukesh confessed that even though he had the best team working on the film, he has never been able to see Dil Bechara again. It seemed like Mukesh was still trying to process his emotions about the film as he concluded the discussion with, “I don’t know what to talk about Dil Bechara honestly.”

Lastly, veteran actor Rajeeta Kochhar, who starred in several television shows such as Tantra, Hatim, and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, died on Friday, 24th December due to renal failure in Mumbai at the age of 70. The late actor’s niece Nupur Kampani told in an interview that Rajeeta had a stroke last September 2021 which was followed by paralysis. While her health was gradually improving, on December 20, she complained of breathlessness and stomach pain. She was put on a ventilator but breathed her last at 10.15 pm. Rajeeta is survived by her husband Rajesh Kochhar and daughter Kapisha. She had stopped acting after her stroke.
