In our top story. Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ completed 10 years of its release on Wednesday, 31st May, and the team of the film got together to celebrate the special day. A series of photos shared by Ayan has Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur posing for photos that look similar to the film’s iconic poster. A larger group photo also features producer Karan Johar, designer Manish Malhotra, music composer Pritam, and actor Kunal Roy Kapur among many other members of the film’s team. One fan commented, “The reunion we needed.” Earlier in the day, Ayan also posted about the film – “Making this movie was one of the greatest joys of my life!”

Moving on. Filmmaker Karan Johar initially had Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in mind for Kajol’s role in his 2001 film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He believed that Kajol might not be available and considered casting Aishwarya instead. Aishwarya had opened up about the same in an earlier interview with DNA. She said, “Karan did come to me with K3G but then, his script went in for a change. So the character did change. What I saw on screen eventually was different. Of course, Kajol was fabulous. But yes, I missed the opportunity to work with him and I could not do it.” Karan and Aishwarya finally worked together in the 2016 film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Alia Bhatt‘s grandfather, Soni Razdan’s father Narendranath Razdan breathed his last at a hospital in Mumbai on June 1st, Thursday at the age of 93. Alia took to Instagram to remember her “hero”, her late grandfather as she shared a video clip from his 92nd birthday celebrations last year. In her post, Alia wrote, “My grandpa. My hero Played golf till 93, Worked till 93. Told the best stories, played the violin, and played with his great-granddaughter. Loved his cricket, Loved his sketching, Loved his family, & till the very last moment.. loved his life! Until we meet again.” The actor had recently skipped the IIFA awards as her grandfather’s health was deteriorating then.

Actor Sanjay Dutt on Thursday, June 1st, remembered his mother Nargis on her 94th birth anniversary and paid tribute to the legendary artiste. Dutt took to Instagram and posted a picture of Nargis, who was best known for featuring in films like the Academy Award-nominated Mother India, Andaaz, Barsaat, Shree 420 and Awaara. The actor posted a black-and-white picture of Nargis and wrote, “To my guiding light, happy birthday, Mom. I love you and miss you always.” Dutt’s daughter, Trishala commented on his post with emojis. Nargis passed away tragically in 1981 due to pancreatic cancer, just days before the release of Sanjay Dutt’s debut film Rocky.

Naseeruddin Shah in a recent interview with indianexpress.com, spoke candidly about his journey and his close friend, late actor Om Puri. The veteran actor recalled – “I came to the National School of Drama with a swagger, where I met Om. I was from Aligarh University where I was the hero of the stage, the girls knew me and all that sort of thing. But when Om and I were finishing NSD, it suddenly hit me like a sledgehammer, how much Om had grown in three years, and where was I? It shocked me to see his growth.” The actor also admitted to not being a fan of his work and insisted he is extremely critical of his performances.

Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor’s big-budgeted film Bloody Daddy was announced amid much fanfare last week. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the actioner will stream on Jio Cinema starting June 9. At the trailer launch event, the actor-director duo spoke about working together, but what made the most noise was Shahid’s fee. A reporter asked the actor about charging Rs 40 crore for every film, to which his director said that it’s more than that. Indianexpress.com met Shahid on Wednesday, 31st May and quizzed him about the same. The actor laughed and shared – “Someone said it in jest without a thought, and it got picked up by everyone. No one will offer me work now after all this news.”

At the recently held IIFA, Hrithik Roshan took to the stage to give an impromptu performance on his popular song “Ek Pal Ka Jeena” from Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. Vicky Kaushal and Abhishek Bachchan, who were hosting the award show also joined him. While Junior Bachchan stood by cheering them, Vicky was seen dancing with Hrithik with childlike glee. As videos of the moment went viral, Vicky took to Instagram to share why it was so special for him. He shared a video clip of him dancing along with Hrithik on stage, along with a childhood photo where he was seen, posing along with his younger brother, Sunny and Hrithik, which was taken on the sets of the 2000 film Fiza.

Lastly, Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has always stayed mum whenever it comes to his personal life. He didn’t react publicly when his wife Aaliya Siddiqui accused him of not taking care of her and their children. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Nawaz shared – ” I had always expected that I will be doing my work with love and peace because that is how I like it. It hurts a bit to see what has happened, but it’s okay, it’s part of life now. I will have to be thick-skinned now as I am becoming gradually.”
