“Let’s begin with our top story. Actor Sidharth Malhotra says the blockbuster success of Shershaah gave him the confidence to be part of “inspiring” stories that are remembered beyond their box office run.
For Malhotra, who celebrated his 38th birthday on Wednesday,16th January, the “pure victory” for any actor is to be recognised for their work years later. He said – “The beauty of any piece of art is that nobody knows at what time it will resonate with the audience. But the intention is to make cinema which will be remembered.”” Sidharth Malhotra will next be seen in the Netflix film Mission Majnu which premieres on January 20th.”
“Moving on. Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor opened up about his step-sister, actor Janhvi Kapoor, and the relationship they share. In a recent interview, Arjun said that he likes talking to Janhvi. “She is hungry. She is insecure. She is worried and she has no confidence in her own ability. She is very unassuming about whose daughter she is, and that is important,” he said.
The actor added that Janhvi’s future is very bright because as an actor she is willing to take risks and chances. He further said that he has a very ‘solid’ bond with Janhvi. On the work front, Arjun Kapoor was recently seen in the film Kuttey.”
“Arjun Kapoor’s action-packed film Kuttey is treading at a slow pace at the box office. It earned Rs 1 crore on its opening day. With the film failing to get an audience, estimates suggest that it may not be able to earn even Rs 5 crore after its first weekend.
According to Box Office India, Kuttey will require a significant increase in order to stay in business. Kuttey also received mostly negative responses from fans and critics.
Directed by filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj’s son Aasmaan Bhardwaj, Kuttey is headlined by an ensemble starring Arjun, Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sensharma, Radhika Madan and Kumud Mishra. “
Meanwhile, Producer Bhushan Kumar has opened up about the escalating fees of big stars after filmmaker Karan Johar talked about how certain actors hiked their fees during the pandemic, despite their films not doing well. Bhushan Kumar shared his opinions on the subject and added that while most actors understand the market, there are many who refuse to alter their stance, leaving producers no option but to not work with them. Bhushan Kumar said that many people have suffered such losses and it is not fair to the producers, while the actors continue to earn a huge amount. Kumar has witnessed many successes, one of them being Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, starring Kartik Aaryan, which was one of the few hits of 2022.
“Filmmakers Anubhav Sinha and Hansal Mehta have released the trailer of the movie “”Faraaz””, which is based on the real-life terrorist attack in Dhaka. Lara reacted to the gown as she wished Harnaaz the best of luck for her journey ahead, on her Instagram. Stylist Saisha Shinde also shared photos of the said gown on her social media handle. An emotional Harnaaz Sandhu also did her final walk on the Miss Universe stage, even slightly tripping as she walked up in front of a cheering crowd.”
“Popular Punjabi singer Honey Singh has opened up about his five-year break from music and being diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, indicating that he needed a big break.
The singer said that during the difficult time, many people from the entertainment industry reached out to enquire about his health status. He said that Deepika Padukone had recommended a doctor in Delhi, Shah Rukh Khan gave his full support, and Akshay Kumar used to make phone calls enquiring about his health. Honey Singh gave many hits in 2010 and in the years following it. He is known for tracks like Lungi Dance and Brown Rang among many more.”
“Lastly, like many actors of his generation, actor Manoj Bajpayee broke out after starring in a Ram Gopal Varma project. In a recent interview, the actor recalled his first meeting with the filmmaker, and how desperate he was to get any kind of work.
He was summoned to the filmmaker’s office to meet him for a part in the film “”Daud”” but walked away with the promise of a lead role in “”Satya””. But the actor said that he couldn’t take the filmmaker’s word at face value, and insisted that he be cast in the smaller role as well because he needed the cash. The actor got the role and said that he made Rs 30,000 for it, which was a big sum for him at the time. “
