The recently released promo of Titli has garnered a lot of attention owing to its subject. The show introduces us to the world of a simple Gujarati girl named Titli, who often dreams about her Prince Charming and is thrilled to have found the man of her dreams Garv but a twist leaves the audience wondering if he is really the man Titli feels he is. Dabbling between grey and white, the role is quite unique for Avinash Mishra who is known for shows like Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke and Yeh Teri Galliyan. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Avinash confessed that he wasn’t nervous at all when he was approached for the role.
EXCLUSIVE: With Titli premiering, Avinash Mishra expresses happiness over playing lead in a Star Plus show; says, “This is the very first time in my seven years career”
“Well, honestly I was not nervous at all when this role was offered. I was actually very thrilled because as an actor you get very few chances to perform these kinds of characters on screen and when the makers told me that they want me to play it without a blink I said yes I’ll do it”, Avinash Mishra told Bollywood Hungama. He further went on to thank them for giving his debut lead role on Star Plus. “I have done a lot of shows and mostly I played leads. But in Star Plus, I have always played the second lead characters. Although, it’s a homecoming for me, (referring to Yeh Rishtey Hai Pyaar Ke, Ishqbaaz, and Mariam Khan), this time it’s really special because this is the very first time in my seven years career that I’ve got to play the lead in STARPLUS,” he confessed.
Addressing his chemistry with leading lady Neha Solanki aka Titli, Avinash added, “And with Neha, it’s quite obvious that we started our journey together. We have known each other for the last seven years. So, we have an understanding, comfort and easiness which really helps while performing the scenes together. When you’re doing scenes with someone for the very first time, we need to create that bond but with Neha, I don’t have to create it because we already have that bond. That’s where the onscreen chemistry is literally fire and people are loving it on set. I’m just waiting for the audience to see those scenes and I just hope they give it lots of love.”
In the past, Star Network has explored the subject of abuse with shows like Saubhagyavati Bhava starring Karanvir Bohra and Sriti Jha. While we wonder if Avinash feels if there might be comparison between his role and the role essayed by Karanvir, the actor maintained, “I will say let’s not compare this show with any other show or any other character because this is a very fresh concept and a very fresh show. Once you see the show you will understand what I’m trying to say, and I don’t want to reveal much. Let it be a surprise for the audience and I’m sure they’re going to love it,” he concluded.
