DUBAI, 8th January 2023 (WAM) – The Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai (RTA) has launched a Travel Behavior Survey – Questionnaire to screen individuals and families living or working in Dubai, as well as companies based in the emirate.

This step is part of the RTA’s efforts to revamp its strategic roads and transport plans, improve roads and public transport networks and services to ensure a smooth and safe transport experience for the public and keep pace with the emirate’s urbanization in line with Dubai Urban Urban Plan 2040.

The survey, which runs from January to June 2023, covers more than 7,000 samples from the population of Dubai and neighboring emirates. It covers 5,000 families (citizens and residents), 1,500 individuals visiting or working in Dubai and 500 freight companies operating in Dubai.

Muna Al Osaimi, Director of Transport Strategic Planning, Strategy and Corporate Governance, RTA, said: “In the next few days, RTA will launch a survey to measure the mobility trends and behavior of Dubai residents and visitors. Public communication channels will include household questionnaires, site visits, personal interviews and online interviews, including smart applications. The process involves using artificial intelligence technologies to reach as many people as possible.

“The results of the survey will be collected, analyzed and researched in a professional and transparent manner in order to make the best findings. Such results will help the RTA update its strategic and operational plans for the road network and mass transport systems, including the Dubai Metro and Tram, public buses, marine transit, as well as individual and soft mobility vehicles,” she added.

“The public is a key partner in our efforts to improve transport services in the emirate. We therefore invite the public to respond and cooperate when asked to participate in the survey. Such feedback will help us make the right decisions and optimally develop plans to modernize roads and public transport systems in the emirate,” concluded Al Osaimi.
