Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt recently spoke candidly about facing casual sexism and how casual sexist comments make her feel irritated and upset. Darlings actress Alia said she didn’t realize the sexism when she heard random sexiest comments. But I found out later. Alia even revealed that she gets annoyed and upset when women are told to hide their bras.
In a recent interview, Alia revealed how women are told to tolerate bad things in society. She revealed how she has faced sexism several times in the film industry. Aaliyah told Mojo Story that she encountered casual sexism and many times she didn’t even notice it. She also said she wasn’t too aware of it and said it “just makes as much sense as ‘oh my god that was such a sexist comment or that I was actually the target of extreme misogyny at that point.’ That’s why I’m much more sensitive now. Sometimes my friends say “what’s wrong with you, why are you so aggressive?”
Alia said to hell with everyone and she is not sensitive. She even said that she gets annoyed when people say these random things like “your bra shouldn’t be on the bed, hide your bra”. Why hide it? These are clothes, you shine in your underwear, I don’t say anything. It’s not like it’s actively happened to me, but there’s a certain understanding of how you have to hide a lot as a woman. Alia is trending Entertainment news after the news of her pregnancy.
On their work front, Alia will be next seen in Darlings which is a dark comedy film. Alia will play the role of a woman who will be seen taking revenge on her husband after suffering domestic violence. The film stars Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma in lead roles. Darlings is scheduled to hit Netflix on August 5.
