The trailer of darlings launched today 25th July at the prestigious 5-star Grand Hyatt Hotel in Santacruz, Mumbai in front of a huge press contingent. Suffice it to say that Darlings trailer hit all the right notes considering not only the immediate appreciation it received from the media, but also the glowing feedback coming from all the quartets on social media. While the first glimpse of Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan MathewEveryone’s performances have been praised to the hilt, it’s mix of black comedy, mystery and a strong feminist undercurrent – this especially caught the attention of viewers for this Netflix movie.
Alia Bhatt asked about Ranveer Singh’s nude photo shoot
Of course, with such a large media presence gathered, it was obvious that many questions flew quickly to the cast on stage, especially Alia Bhatt, the star of the show. One of the queries directed at her went a little off-topic – about her Gully Boy and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani co-star Ranveer Singh, with his aesthetically done and hot nude magazine photo shoot that surfaced recently, being the subject of the inquiry in question, including a barrage of trolling and a lot of moral policing aimed at the star in the aftermath.
Alia Bhatt responds to Ranveer Singh’s nude photo shoot
Kudos to Alia for not shying away from the controversial subject even though she came for the trailer launch of Darling, a film she also turned producer for the first time. Talking about both Ranveer Singh’s nude photo shoot and the trolling barrage she received, Alia said, “I don’t like anything negative said about my beloved Ranveer Singh. I love him forever, he has given so much to the film industry and I don’t even like this question because it is negative against him. I’m so proud of him and wish him nothing but the best and hats off to him for making it.”
Darlings is out August 5 on Netflix.
