Salman Khan is all set to woo the South audience with his special appearance in megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film The Godfather, which is an official remake of Superstar Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s 2019 film Lucifer. It was reported that Salman had agreed to be a part of the film without even reading the script or charging a fee. In a new interview, Chiranjeevi revealed that Salman angrily asked the producers of The Godfather to screw up when they offered him money for his cameo.
The megastar shared that The Godfather director Mohan Raja had suggested Salman’s name for the role. Chiranjeevi had told him that he would try to woo him as Salman was his family’s best friend and they shared mutual respect for each other. When Chiranjeevi messaged Salman and offered him the role and also asked him to watch Lucifer in case he wanted, Dabangg Khan agreed to do the cameo within 23 minutes and simply asked Chiranjeevi to send his man to discuss the dates his.
Later, Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan went to meet Salman and the latter told him that Charan was his brother and wanted to be in the film, adding that he felt no need to watch Lucifer. Salman even refused to accept an honorarium. His gesture made Chiranjeevi in awe of Salman’s personality and filled his heart with love and affection for him.
“When my producers went to him and offered him some amount, not knowing how much it was, he said, ‘You can’t buy my love for Ram and Chiranjeevi garu with money. Have fun,” Chiranjeevi told Film Companion.
On Saturday, the makers of Godfather launched the Hindi trailer of the actioner in the presence of a host of celebrities including Chiranjeevi, Salman Khan and Satya Dev in Mumbai. Chiranjeevi delivers a strong performance as Brahma as well as the Godfather. Salman Khan’s on-screen aura adds to the impact. Nayanthara and Sathya Dev also look promising in their respective roles.
