Sunday will remain special for volunteers of Youth for Parivarthan because they had the company of Sandalwood actor Vasishta N Simha with them to beautify a wall at Binnypet in Bengaluru West. The volunteers, along with Vasishta, re-painted the wall after removing the posters pasted on it.
It may be recalled that the volunteers of Youth for Parivarthan had earlier spent seven hours beautifying the wall on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi three weeks ago. They were shocked when a few posters conveying birthday wishes to Vasishta were pasted on the wall. Bangalore Mirror published a story – Clean-up act ruined in seconds – on October 22 narrating how the volunteers spent their valuable time (seven hours) during the weekend to beautify the wall.
They extended an invitation to Vasishta to take part in beautifying the wall. As per the schedule, the volunteers assembled on the spot on Sunday morning.
They were very happy when Vasishta arrived to the spot and took a brush to paint the wall.
“I visited the spot to paint the wall because I consider it a responsibility to encourage and support those doing good to society. I want my fans to organise functions or indulge in social work without causing inconvenience to people working to make Bengaluru beautiful,’’ said Vasishta.
Appreciating Vasishta for visiting the spot and joining the volunteers to beautify the wall, Youth for Parivarthan founder and president Amith Amarnath said that volunteers of the group had expressed disappointment over defacing the wall that was beautified three weeks ago. “We expressed our disappointment through social media. Vasishta, after coming to know about his fans defacing the wall, expressed regret and assured us that he would visit the spot. He became a role model for his fans by joining hands with the volunteers to repaint the wall. With this gesture, he made it clear that it is our responsibility to beautify Bengaluru. We expect similar responses and gestures from all prominent people,’’ said Amith Amaranth.

Not only volunteers of Youth for Parivarthan but also some activists have welcomed actor Vasishta’s gesture and wanted to encourage and support those working for beautifying black spots in the city.
“I want to thank Vasishta for joining hands with the volunteers to remove the posters and repaint the wall. If the political leaders follow Vasishta or direct their followers to remove the posters pasted by them, Bengaluru will be free from wall poster menace,’’ said Sai Datta, a social activist who filed a petition in the High Court against illegal wall poster, flexes and hoardings.
Dhananjay Padmanabhachar described Vasishta’s gesture as a welcome move and encouragement for his fans. “Vasishta’s gestures will encourage the volunteers too,’’ said Dhananjay Padmanabhachar.
