Following six weeks of a delicious showdown between well-known celebrities, John Torode and Gregg Wallace announced Lisa Snowdon among the three finalists.
The two finalists other than Lisa Snowdon were All Saints singer, Melanie Blatt, and McFly popstar, Danny Jones. After being awarded the coveted trophy, Lisa got seemingly emotional and said that the experience of being a part of Celebrity MasterChef has been life-changing for her. She further added that she felt it was unreal and couldn’t believe it.
Season 17 of Celebrity MasterChef aired for six weeks between August 10 and September 22. As usual, the show had well-known celebrities wearing the apron and taking up cooking challenges on television. Other than the three finalists, some of the most prominent names from the show were Cliff Parisi, Jimmy Bullard, Faye Winter, Clarke Peters, Katya Jones, and Nancy Dell’Olio.
The final of season 17 was a tough challenge for the finalists, as they had to prepare a complete three-course meal in two hours. Danny, Mel, and Lisa prepared flawless dishes, and both the judges were extremely impressed by all three servings. The judges commented that each finalist had superb preparations, but the duo chose Lisa over the other two finalists.
Lisa’s three-course meal:
• Starter – poached rhubarb, pan-fried mackerel, and a fennel slaw
• Main Course – pan-fried duck breast with mushrooms
• Dessert – chocolate tart, crème Fraiche, and sour cherries
The judges complimented Lisa for taking a risk by choosing daring combinations. However, they thought she cooked well and said her dishes were thought-provoking and refined.
Gregg and John also praised Danny and Mel for their efforts. They said that Danny had his style, which was fun and energetic, and that he had his own identity. The judges also remarked that Mel had the flawless technique and a unique style and complimented her for delivering classics with real gusto.
