Celebrity MasterChef spoilers follow.

Celebrity MasterChef opened its doors again this evening (August 25), as a second cook from the latest group was eliminated.

Jimmy Bullard (ex-Fulham FC player), Lesley Joseph (Birds of a Feather), Richard Blackwood (Hollyoaks) and Kirsty Gallacher (Smooth Radio) each enjoyed some positive feedback from judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode, but only three were allowed into the quarter-final.

After three stressful challenges, it was Kirsty who bowed out of the competition.

A 20-minute turnaround for the Crepe Suzette opened the show, which is essentially a thin pancake covered in caramel with orange zest.

Then arrived Asma Khan, the Darjeeling Express head chef, who gave this famous quartet the opportunity to recreate one of her recipes.

It deserves to be noted here that Lesley’s in particular proved a triumph — she’s now become an official Dark Horse to take home Celebrity MasterChef glory.

Later, their final brief was to cook one dish where veggies were the centrepiece.

In the wake of Gregg and John’s decision, here’s how broadcaster Kirsty reflected on her time in the MasterChef kitchen: “I’m fine… I’ve loved every minute of this. I mean it would’ve been lovely — of course it would — to have gone on.

“But I think probably, I’ve gone as far as was correct for me. Those three are the three that should go through.”

Richard, who admitted to completely winging the first challenge, went on to tell the cameras: “I think people at home don’t truly understand how elated it makes you feel to get to that point. I’m really happy, I’m really happy!”

Celebrity MasterChef airs on BBC One.
