Celebrity deaths in 2022 included actors like Kirstie Alley, James Caan, William Hurt, Angela Lansbury, Ray Liotta, and Sidney Poitier; music stars Coolio, Taylor Hawkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie and Migos rapper Takeoff; comedians Louie Anderson, Gallagher, Gilbert Gottfried and Bob Saget; and “Sesame Street” cast members Emilio Delgado and Bob McGrath.

Other famous people who died this year include Queen Elizabeth II, “Grease” star Olivia Newton-John, “Power Rangers” actor Jason David Frank, former President Donald Trump’s first wife Ivana Trump, Woodstock promoter Michael Lang, and NBA legend Bill Russell.

Notable deaths with Syracuse ties include “ER” and “Mr. Saturday Night” actress Mary Mara, former SU football coach Greg Robinson, and Carol M. Baldwin, the Camillus resident who raised money for breast cancer research and was mother to the famous Baldwin brothers.
