[ad_1]

Many celebrities have children that make headlines almost as much as they do. Fans of Beyoncé have followed Blue Ivy’s sassy antics since she was born, Kim Kardashian’s entertaining shenanigans with daughter North West are often trending via social media and, face it, Rihanna fans can’t wait for her son to join the crusade of popular celebrity kids. Some celebrities are so famous even their baby bumps, photographed in an Instagram post, are enough to break the internet for a day.

It’s tough to imagine the work it must take for celebrities to juggle fame and parenting. There are some celebrities who are not quite ready to take that step or— do not want to take it at all. Some celebrities actively choose not to be parents, and their reasoning is quite understandable. Here’s a look at a few celebrities with practical reasons for why for they aren’t parents.

8/8 Issa Rae

Insecure co-creator Issa Rae spoke to Self magazine about how having children would affect her success as a Black woman in Hollywood.

“Women, Black women especially — unless you’re Viola Davis or Angela Bassett — you have a window when people are going to want to continue to see you and see what you can do…I want to do as much as I can while I still can. I know it’s not the proper mentality to think that kids will slow you down, but I do feel that way.” Rae said.

7/8 John Cena

The WWE star had an insightful response after Drew Barrymore insinuated that he would be a great father on The Drew Barrymore Show.

“I think just because you might be good at something, for me, is not a strong enough reason to do that,” Cena told Barrymore. “You have to have a passion for it. You have to have a fuel for it. It’s like saying to someone, ‘Man, you know you are a pretty good with your hands. You would be a great carpenter.’”
