Excel Sports Management has signed boxer Canelo Alvarez to representation as the Mexican-born fighter looks to grow his business ventures outside the ring. The agency, which announced the news this afternoon, will represent Alvarez for his marketing and advertising efforts. He already has sponsorships with Hennessy and a handful of companies in Mexico. Alvarez was previously represented by several business advisers who remain part of his personal team, including his manager and trainer Eddie Reynoso, and Excel will work with them rather than replace them directly. Alvarez (52-2-2 in his boxing career) is coming off just his second loss in May against Dmitry Bivol, and he returns to the ring this weekend for a trilogy fight against Gennady Golovkin at T-Mobile Arena Saturday night on DAZN PPV.
