Cameo Introduces 10-minute Video Calls With Celebrities

[ad_1]

Ever dreamed of chatting it up with your favorite celebrity? Cameo’s latest product ‘Cameo Live’ permits fans and their loved ones to video chat with one of thousands of actors, athletes and other personalities.

The app that enabled consumers to buy celebrity shout-out videos is extending its offerings to include 10-minute live chats with a star of their choosing.

Cameo allows consumers to purchase custom, personal videos from a range of celebrities. The brand reports delivering millions of videos – such as prom invitations, marriage proposals, gender reveals and job offers – while giving thousands of celebrities another revenue stream since launching five years ago. Since then, Cameo has introduced several other products, including ‘Cameo Direct Messages,’ its foray into web3 ‘Cameo Pass,’ ‘Cameo for Business’ for brand deals and physical merch through its acquisition of Represent. Last year, Cameo introduced ‘Cameo Calls,’ a live two-minute virtual meet-and-greet product.

‘Cameo Live,’ the app’s latest product, extends those calls to 10 minutes and permits consumers to choose the date and time of the call, as well as opt for a one-on-one chat or a group call with up to nine friends and family members. Real Housewives icon Dorinda Medley, Bonnie Wright from the Harry Potter franchise, Sean Astin from Stranger Things and pro wrestler Mick Foley make up some of the product’s early adopters. Cameo Live’s beta testers have already used the product to book a pep talk before a job interview, a jam session with their favorite guitarist and a virtual birthday party, according to the brand.

“What started as a lightbulb moment with a new digital autograph five years ago led us down the path of reinventing the relationship between talent, fans and brands,” Cameo’s co-founder and chief executive Steven Galanis said in a statement. “As the nature of celebrity continues to evolve, we’re on a mission to empower all global talent with a suite of products to connect with their fans whenever and however they wish. Cameo Live is an exciting milestone on this mission and we can’t wait to unveil even more new fan experiences in the coming months.”

In tandem with the launch of Cameo Live, Cameo has launched the Cameo Live app on the Koji App store, which can be used to book calls, like the Cameo website before it. The Cameo Live app also allows talent to book calls from their ‘Link in Bio.’

“We’re always looking for new and exciting ways to connect fans and talent on our platform,” Cameo’s co-founder and chief product officer Devon Townsend said in a statement. “With Cameo Live we’re keeping the personalization and fast turnaround we’re known for and making the connection a two-way street.”
