BTS ARMY in Indonesia raises USD 30,000 in 24 hours to help survivors of Kanjuruhan tragedy that left 131 dead

Well, 131 died due to a stampede after the police used tear gas after a freak incident. On October 1, 2022, a match was held at the stadium in Java, Indonesia. It seems the hosts Arema lost to another local team, after which 3,000 people stormed the pitch and attacked the team and support staff. A clash with the police ensued, leading to the use of tear gas. The stadium exits appeared to be closed when a stampede ensued. Hundreds of people died from crowd crush and suffocation. The government has finally released the official figures, which are 131. BTS ARMY from Indonesia jumped into action and managed to raise 30,000 USD in less than 24 hours to help the families. The news was reported by CNN Indonesia. The money will be given as business capital to bereaved families, as well as to fund research for children who have lost parents. They are currently distributing the money to those interested and have closed donations. BTS ARMY is known to be as generous as the boys themselves. In 2020, they raised 1 million USD in just one day for the Black Lives Matter campaign. In India, they raised 5 lakh rupees for Kaziranga National Park restoration efforts in 2020 after the floods in Assam. BTS ARMY is recognized by many as a force for good.
