Boyanika organises fashion show on Threads of Tradition

Bhubaneswar: The State Level 9th National Handloom Day is being celebrated throughout the State covering a week period i.e. from 7th to 15th August 2023. Boyanika is showcasing Contemporary dresses for youth, apart from Sarees and other Handloom Materials.

Boyanika organised an exclusive Fashion Show on Threads of Tradition at Ekamra Haat here.

“This is an opportunity for each and every citizen to respect our age-old weaving culture and tradition and support the weaver artisans, who have carried the profession from generation to generation with their exceptional skill and creative ability,” a spokesperson of Boyanika said.

“The function will certainly encourage the weavers to keep up their noble profession and inspire the young generation for the trade,” the spokesperson added.

Handloom products of our State represent an inseparable part of our rich culture & tradition and act as a source of livelihood for millions of weavers engaged in this activity. The objective is to generate awareness of the importance of the Handloom Industry and its contribution to the socio-economic development of the country in general.

Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts department Principal Secretary Arabinda Kumar Padhee inaugurated the function in the presence of Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Skill Development & Technical Education department and Commerce & Transport department, Shovan Krishna Sahu, Director of Textiles & Handloom, Odisha, Rajesh Kumar Jha, Director, National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bhubaneswar and Pranati Chhotray, Managing Director, Boyanika and Director, Handicrafts Department, Govt of Odisha including several other dignitaries.
