Releasing Bollywood movies on OTT platforms is no longer a new thing. The latest to hit OTT is Alia Bhatt‘c darlings. She not only acted in the film but also produced the film. It is co-produced by none other than Shahrukh Khan. Dear stars Vijay Varma and Shefali Shah along with Alia Bhatt and is receiving positive response from all over. Viewers are praising Alia Bhatt for her striking performance in this dark and edgy drama. This is her first production venture and it must be said that she managed to land a big deal with Darlings.
Darlings and Netflix deal
If reports are anything to go by, OTT giant Netflix has bought Alia Bhatt’s Darlings for a whopping sum. According to ETimes, the makers pocketed Rs 80 crore for Darlings. The film ditched its theatrical release and directly hit OTT. The amount paid is huge but it is said to be less than what Karthik Aryan’s Dhamaka made. Reports suggest that Kartik Aaryan’s Dhamaka has been sold to Netflix for Rs 135 crore. The film became a big trend on Netflix and Karthik was praised for his performance.
All about Darlings
Speaking of Darlings, this is a story about Badru who is a victim of domestic violence. Her husband, under the influence of alcohol, tortured her several times. She and her mother then seek revenge.
Alia Bhatt’s upcoming projects
Soon-to-be-a-mom Alia Bhatt will be seen in Brahmastra alongside husband Ranbir Kapoor. For the first time, the stars will share screen space. There is a lot of excitement surrounding this Ayan Mukerji starrer. She also has a Hollywood movie with Gal Gadot in her kitty. Alia also has Jee Le Zara opposite Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra.
