The entire team of Brahmastra including Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna, Ayan Mukerji and Karan Johar along with ace director Rajamouli were present in Hyderabad for the pre-release event of the film. However, Alia and Karan were brutally trolled by netizens who believed that they were using the actress’ impending baby to promote their film.
At Brahmastra’s pre-release event, Alia was seen wearing a pink sharara. She had a note written on her back that read, “Baby on board.” While on stage, Karan asked Alia to turn around and show the audience how cute she had scribbled a note on her dress about her upcoming baby. Alia happily complied with Karan’s request and thanked the director.
However, their actions did not go down well with netizens who criticized them for choosing an unusual way to promote their upcoming film. “Baby abhi se promote me help kar rha hai,” wrote one Instagram user, followed by another user who dug into them, commenting, “Bcche ke release ke phle uska bh ek premier toh banta hai.”
Another user was moved by Karan and Alia’s actions and wrote, “Horror.. these guys can do anything to promote the film.” And another who said, “Bache ko bhi nahi chora saale bhikmange.” Looks like Karan and Alia’s actions have landed him in more trouble.
Brahmastra is already facing boycott calls from netizens over Alia’s recent statement on nepotism. “If you don’t like me, don’t look at me,” Alia said while talking about the star kids’ constant scrutiny. Her statement irked the netizens to a great extent and they are determined to give Alia what she asked for.
So far, Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan, Taapsee Pannu’s Dobaaraa and Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger have been severely affected by the boycott calls. It remains to be seen whether Brahmastra will suffer the same fate or whether it will be able to ride out the storm of the September 9 boycott.
