Churni Ganguly says nepotism does not apply to Alia Bhatt

Churni Ganguly plays Alia Bhatt aka Rani’s mother in the film directed by Karan Johar. The actress heaped praise on her on-screen daughter, saying that Alia is one of those performers who are extremely talented. She also talked about how people often talk about nepotism when they talk about Alia Bhatt. Well, it’s true, Alia is one of the most talked about actresses when it comes to the nepotism discussion. However, Churni Ganguly feels that Alia and nepotism do not go well. This is because “I think nepotism only becomes relevant if the actor is not up to par and lacks talent. But that is not the case with Alia,” Churni told an online entertainment news portal. Well, you have to admit that there is initial help, but then the actor has to prove his mettle. Churni Ganguly recalls how she landed the role of Alia Bhatt’s mother in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani

Churni Ganguly tells News18.com that she has received a call from Dharma Productions, who are bankrolling the film starring Ranveer Singh along with Viacom18 Studios. The actress was frantically moving into her new home. She was asked to send a video of her, a recorded video, but she kept delaying it. When they sent her a photo that turned out to be of herself, she felt they really wanted to cast her in the film. Churni then sent the video and got a reply that evening asking her to block her dates and meet Karan Johar.
