Ali Asghar is eliminated; bursts into tears listening to his children being abused

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10, the celebrity dance reality show that premiered two weeks ago, witnessed its first elimination in the form of actor-comedian Ali Asghar and his choreographer partner Lipsa. Although the judges’ scores were tied, in the end, the audience’s vote resulted in the comedian’s elimination. Contestant Zorawar Karla narrowly escaped elimination as he shared the last two positions with Ali Asgar, whose elimination came as a huge shock. As the theme of this weekend’s episodes was family, Ali and his choreographer drew inspiration from the hardships they’ve endured in their lives. Known for his wit and sense of humor, the actor-comedian had an emotional moment on stage after seeing an A/V of his children talking about their experiences growing up as their father portrayed mostly female characters on screen. Karan Johar applauded him for being an actor for 35 years and prayed that the industry would recognize his work. Talking about his short but memorable journey on the show, Ali Asghar said, “I am a performer, be it playing ‘Daadi’ or dancing, I have always enjoyed every aspect of my career as an actor and entertainer. It’s an emotional moment for me to be eliminated from this epic dance battle, but I’m happy that the show gave me a new identity. I got the chance to explore a new aspect of my personality.”

It should be noted that Ali Asghar’s dance performance in the show was marked by many special moments and highlights. After the first elimination, the remaining contestants are now more determined than ever to put on a volley of impressive performances.
