After giving some amazing performances in projects like ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’, ‘Avrodh’ and ‘Call My Agent Bollywood’, actress Ahana Kumra is now all set to appear in Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming film ‘India Lockdown’. In this anthalogy set during the initial phase of COVID 19 pandemic in India, Ahana plays a pilot and in a recent media interaction, she opened up about her role and experience of working with Madhur Bhandarkar.
She told ETimes, “He is a very collaborative director and truly a feminist. The way he is with women and the way he makes them feel comfortable on his sets is absolutely incredible. He is somebody who jokes around, has fun and truly enjoys the process and I think there are very few filmmakers who do that.”
Talking about her character, Ahana said, “I play a pilot in the film who has a high-flying, luxurious life on her own but she gets very lonely during the lockdown as she realizes that what she has surrounded herself with is not something permanent. I saw many people go through that same thing in real life too during Covid. So, I think it will be a very relatable character.”
Opening up about how she prepped for her part, the actress said, “A lot in this film is about internalizing the emotions of the theme and thankfully, we have all been in the lockdown and experienced it, loneliness being a big part of it. Being lonely is a boon and a curse, which I experienced during the lockdown as well as the shoot of the film.”
